About the Author

Chris Olson has written, edited and published thousands of pages on commercial architecture and engineering, content marketing, writing, fiction, technology and computer apps.

He has been the publisher/editorial director of consumer magazines and two industry-leading, business-to-business publications, where he trained teams of professional editors and writers on print and online content.

He has also edited college textbooks, written custom marketing content at an ad agency, developed quantitative research for multinational corporations, and written technical white papers based on that research. He was an editor at TriQuarterly, which the New York Times called "perhaps the preeminent journal for literary fiction." He recently completed a book on local, sustainable agriculture, Shared Abundance, and a book on Quantum Racing, the most successful sailing yacht team in the 52 SUPER SERIES, the Mediterranean grand prix yacht circuit.

He has 23 years of experience on publications serving the commercial buildings industry, including the Journal of the National Institute of Building Sciences. He has a special interest in workplace, sustainability and energy issues, and has completed the Certified Energy Manager (CEM) course from the Association of Energy Engineers.

His personal awards include two Jesse H. Neal Finalist Awards from American Business Media, three Best Essay Awards from the Western Publishing Association, and a Silver Award from the American Society of Business Press Editors.

Chris received a PhD in English literature from Northwestern University, where he was a lecturer in the Writing Program. His dissertation concentrated on narrative structure and narrational styles in the novel.
